One thing I started doing was, when I am running commands, like Mastodon's tootctl command that may take a long time, I am starting them out with the Linux command 'screen' in case my connection with the server in Putty is disconnected like it was yesterday when Spectrum did network upgrades while I was running statuses remove.
If my connection is interrupted, tootctl will keep running on the server and when I can log back in I just need to pull it back up with the screen command. #MastoAdmin

@paul I've used Linux for years and didn't know about this. I've always been nervous about losing a connection during Mastodon maintenance. This is precisely what I need.
Thank you for sharing!

Until I fired up my Mastodon instance in 2022, I hadn't used a lot of Linux server commands in over a decade.
Things are finally coming back to me, plus, I had my Linux steno book cheat sheets pulled out of the file cabinet in the garage. lol
'nohup' is probably another command you should look at.
