I apologize in advance for the length of this thread, but the 3rd party voter issue is nagging at me. I support #uncommitted and others for fighting to bring the issue of the genocide against the Palestinians to the forefront. I totally support the activists who are fighting to save Palestinian lives. I’ve even attended some of the protests here in DC. 1/11 -

But recently, a 20+ year friend said they were voting 3rd party candidate to protest to the failure of the Dems to move on supplying weapons to Israel. A group of us had a long discussion about that decision. [Disclaimer here: I am not a Dem. For my entire adult life I am a registered Independent.] In the end what I heard was that my friend had a very theoretical/idealistic view of how our political system worked. 2/11 -

I understand being morally outraged at what is happening to the Palestinian people and for many Arab Americans this genocide is happening to their families, so their outrage is righteous. On November 5th they will show the Dems that they mean business and that resolution of Israeli murder and aggression is their top priority. On November 6th they will wake up feeling morally sound. 3/11 -
#BlackMastodon #BlackTwitter #uncommitted #politics #2024Election What I don’t hear anyone talking about is what will those actions achieve? When there is political action there should be an end goal that the action will achieve. So, what is the end goal with the 3rd party vote? Let’s look at it for a moment. Can a 3rd party candidate win the election? We all know the answer to that is NO. Will a 3rd party vote end the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians? We all know the answer to that is NO. 4/11
