I read it more as being a general thing, that all these new social networks built around the idea of being closed keep showing up, while the people that have been investing ourselves in building this network dig in our heels and reject it for not working with any of us on compatibility or for making their own snowflake protocol when one already exists, and then they have the audacity to act like we're the problem for not wanting to go through an endless cycle of "company makes social network, we build social network with content, social network goes through enshittification, flee to next social network".
