Sure. So we border France and Denmark. Fancy that.
(Runs to check if I have any Euro notes laying about.) -

@lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @Chigaze @chris I would ask to change the Euros to our colourful paper though!

@lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie @chris Shared border is NOT one of the EU membership criteria.
-
@stephanie @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @Chigaze and we can teach Europe about Terry Fox so he can be on a Euro note too

@Chigaze @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie is there a handy 'list" of the basic criteria? I've yet to find anything geographical

The geographic condition is that the state must be in Europe.

@Chigaze OK, so what you're saying is that to become part of the EU we'd have to become part of a European country. That's a little more complicated, but if the choice is to become Greater Greenland or the 51st US state, I guess I'll have to learn to speak Danish.

@AmeliasBrain @Chigaze @chris @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie alternatively, maybe we could trade our half of that island we were fighting with Denmark over for a little piece of land in Denmark and then part of Canada can be in Europe.
-
@megmac @AmeliasBrain @Chigaze @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie seems fair!

@AmeliasBrain @Chigaze @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie I am still trying to find the place where it says you have to be part of the European Continent geographically. There was a time after the fall of the USSR where Russia was thought to be able to join the EU one day.... Considering they span two continents... how different would Canada really be?

@chris @AmeliasBrain @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie Oh FFS! What part of Canada is in Europe?! Russia is a European state. It began in Europe, the majority of it’s population is in Europe.
And at this point, given I know you’re not an idiot, I have to assume you’re just baiting me, so I’m done here.

@Chigaze @AmeliasBrain @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie I promise I am being serious and not just trying to be an ass. I genuinely haven’t seen anything that defines “Europe” or a requirement to be in it. But I’ll drop it and try to dive into the docs to see if there is something concrete.
