That said, I expect Canada's government to bow to its "domestic” (most of them are foreign owned!) car manufacturers that are terrified of Chinese EVs flooding the market.
Regular people, and the climate, lose again.

@Chigaze @jphuston That is true, though I am also typing this on an Apple device that has been at some point made in China (if not this specific model, certainly in the past)
So it is clear that there is not one set of labour practices across the country or even across industries. I have yet to see definitive evidence that a BYD plant in China has worse labour issues than FoxConn, GoerTek or Luxshare that Apple uses in Taiwan/China.

@Chigaze @chris I agree but at the same time governments/big business easily sold out portions of our manufacturing and nary blinked an eye because of greed and a NIMBY - now in the face of an existential threat, price gouging and profiteering Canadians are expected to shoulder the burden again I say NO - enough is enough
