Western outlets doing everything possible to avoid saying that #Israel is invading my country #Lebanon. This is nothing less than complicity.

@ayoub So you are saying your country lebanon condones the Hezbollah presence there and their attacks on Israeli civilians?
-
@pkreissel funny how you boost Jan Wildeboer, september 21, and then do here exactly what he criticises. Maybe your anti-Arab racism got in the way?
-
@Heidentweet I am not saying that. But I thought, that the Iranian militias in southern Lebanon where NOT there because Lebanon actually likes them there, but because Lebanon itself doesn’t have full control over their territory and sovereignty here. In which case however this attack on Hezbollah by Israel would not be an attack on Lebanon as stated in the post.

@pkreissel @ayoub According to American media there are no attacks on civilians from Lebanon - that has disappeared from the story. I was recently looking to understand the start and end of the rocket campaign and it's hard to find anything on it.

@jenzi @ayoub
The rocket campaign started on October 7th to „show solidarity“ with the attack of Hamas on Israel.
They recently killed civilians and also children.

@pkreissel I wouldn't mind this discourse if Lebanon weren't in the state it's in bc of US (CIA) sabotage. The gov't is provisional, the economy is trashed, and their own military is not nearly as well equipped as Hezbollah, so the State of Lebanon doesn't have much choice in what Hez. does. But what I think OP is saying is _the people_ of Lebanon are the ones paying the price for this.
Not to mention, all any of the Arab states want is for Israel to stop the genocide and get out of Palestine.

@fixiemama removing every agency from the Lebanese people and Hezbollah is pretty colonial thinking in itself. The attack on Hezbollah by Israel is clearly not an attack on the entirety of Lebanon. Hezbollah thought more violence is the answer, which is now exactly what they are getting unfortunately. Israel just doesn’t want anyone shooting rockets at their children, which is why Netanyahus current approach here is very popular.
-
@pkreissel lol at your idea about Hezbollah thinking violence is the answer, not bc they don't, but bc Israel is the problem here, Israel is the worst offender of "violence is the answer" in the context of Oct. 7. And I really wish you could see how your words excuse the very high numbers of Lebanese innocents killed in these raids. Did you know Netanyahu is really chummy with Putin? Would you be surprised to learn Israeli developers are already planning new settlements on Lebanese soil?
-
@fixiemama unfortunately it’s hard to discuss anything with somebody who sees everything black and white. Have a nice day.

100% of replies starting with "so you are saying..." is followed by something OP was not saying...
