I feel like I am turning a corner.

For a long time I have been trying to make more complex music.

I would think, "this is too blocky, its too repetitive, no one will like it like I do."

Then I would go about trying to learn a new technique to create more complex music that evolves like a classical piece does. Never really happy with the results.

Recently it hit me. Maybe I like loop based music.

If I program a 16 bar loop and solo over it for 20 mins and its fun?

Maybe that's enough.

@matsumuri that's something I've been kind of coming to terms with recently too. I struggle sometimes, tweaking minor details over very long periods of time (like a year!) to get the depth and variance I want. but other times a more raw, stripped down sound is powerful on it's own.

And yes, I love good hypnotic and "repetitive" music too
