It’s been watching us from the box art for a long time, but today was finally the day we started building our Lego Tuxedo Cat. And there’s still plenty of today left – let’s see how far we get.

Not sure if this yet counts as #caturday

Here’s the finished Lego cat! We went all evening to get it done, took about 5 hours for us to build, I want to say.
He’s still a bit shy so he likes to hide behind the TV.

The build of the Lego cat is pretty fascinating. It seems they deliberately used varying ways to put things together instead of going for the most straightforward, obvious solution, just to make things interesting and not too repetitive. Perhaps to “flex” too. Which makes sense, you’re supposed to have fun building, not just end up with the finished thing.
The cat also has a hinged hatch in his back to access the rather generous inside space, and has me thinking of what to do with it…

My current idea is to build one of those #HomeAssistant-compatible voice assistant speakers that would fit in, allowing me to give him a “voice” (“greatest hits” of cat meows from the internet maybe?) and react to people around him through the mmWave radar that’s already in the same room. Nothing too crazy.
