our radiator loops are still single (hot or cold, no dual where i can get either) and the piping for it is asbestos insulated, painted in lead paint to contain the asbestos and then wrapped in a plastic sheath to contain the lead paint

@[email protected] i could be wrong, but it looks suspiciously like that's a grounded plug with the ground pin cut off

self explanatory

@[email protected] you are wrong. it’s grounded

@puppygirlhornypost2 would it work to wrap some paper around the first few millimeters of exposed metal or is a special material necessary to avoid the paper clip situation? Do not try please, only theory.
-
@[email protected] i am the only person who sits at my desk so the risk of people getting hurt from this is minimal otherwise i would do something about it
-
-
@puppygirlhornypost2 you're supposed to snap the earth pin off and plug it in upside down.
-
@puppygirlhornypost2 this is what happens when you're mounting the nema sockets upside down so they make the shocked face
ground is supposed to be above live/neutral but apparently no one does this -
@[email protected] not necessarily true https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNj75gJVxcE (courtesy of @[email protected]). He went into detail about it
-
@puppygirlhornypost2 ah hadn't thought of the right-angle plugs (even though that's the majority of them in europe...)
-
@[email protected] yeah unfortunately this outlet has a uh, window mount air conditioner plugged into it as well that's a right angle plug
-
@puppygirlhornypost2 Yeah, but is the ground actually connected to, you know, the ground? @jiub
-
@[email protected] @[email protected] if this was a GFCI circuit there'd be a very easy way to test this by using a paper clip but unfortunately this is not GFCI.

@puppygirlhornypost2 @[email protected] @[email protected] Please don't stick a paperclip even in a GFCI outlet. Even if it failed, do you trust that breaker in the MSP to trip and not deliver a deadly zap of electricity?
I'll say this, I've seen enough GFCI's and Breakers fail where I wouldn't trust any of them individually. But that's why we put them in series, redundancy helps~ -

@ReignOfRaining @[email protected] @[email protected] I might be the one with the plug half sticking out but even I have limits and testing continuity with ground using a paper clip is too much for me lol

@puppygirlhornypost2 @[email protected] @[email protected] Okay good, sorry. My electrician instructs kicked in right away. I had to fire a tech once for sticking an un-insulated screw driver into a conduit and piercing all three of the wires. Nearly blew his hand off and when I asked them why they would do that, they said they were trying to fish out a wire
