Why is the goddamn audio jack on the front of new Mac min?

Why is the goddamn audio jack on the front of new Mac min? Isn't it more likely to plug in speakers from the back than wired headphones on the front?

@pmcg TBH, maybe not. That 2.5mm jack can’t power good speakers, but can power headphones. I reckon most folk will have USB speakers, or an amp/DAC that plugs into USB.
I reckon tho the vast majority of purchasers already have apple headphones of some sort, which don’t have wires anyway. Honestly, I think I’m one of about 10 people who have an apple phone and computers but no earpods.

@octothorpe well I just have regular speakers that have a wall power supply, which many people would. And *3.5mm
Gonna need a lot of USB hubs if I need to run a speaker off a thunderbolt port!

@pmcg i have a Studio Ultra. It had a craptonne of ports… I’m still in hub and dongle hell.
