Hello everyone!
I write my bachelor's thesis about Mastodon as an alternative social network and how its users perceive the platform.
I would be greateful if you would particpate in my survey:
https://umfragen.uni-paderborn.de/index.php/661426?lang=enIt only takes 10-15 minutes and would help me a lot.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.In case you want to support me, you can repost the access link, which would also help me.
Thank you!

For example, I found it hard to answer a number of questions because I wasn't sure exactly what you meant, eg by terms like "alternative social network". An ability to comment on the ways the questions confused me would have given context to my answers (or lack thereof).

A couple of notes. First, it's usually a good idea in a survey to provide at least one comment box, where people can give some context to their replies. On a digital form like this, a comment box at the bottom of every page is good idea.

Another thing that made answering the questions in your survey more difficult is the use of "Mastodon" to refer to an "alternative social network". AFAIC this is not a reality.
Servers running Mastodon, and the accounts on them, currently make up the majority of the fediverse. But the network also includes servers running a range of other software;

AFAIK there is no way to connect a Mastodon server only to other Mastodon servers, nor any reason why you would.

Some questions were phrased in ways that didn't make sense to me. One question about moderation, for example, implied the existence of an entity called "Mastodon" that can be held responsible for whether network-wide moderation is adequate or not. There is no such entity.
Experience of moderation in the fediverse can vary wildly, depending on what server you use. From absent-by-design, to highly restrictive. I tried to map this out here;
