If you still have an account on X/“Twitter” - even if it’s locked or private and abandoned - the new TOS over there apparently says they’re going to train AI on your posts from November, move jurisdiction to Texas, *and*, if you still do use it sometimes, they are breaking the block functionality… so why not rip off that sticking plaster and finally delete it? I did. I deleted a *lot* of them (one of which I used for over 15 years). You can do it!

@textoo disagree. if you have 15 years of posts that will take a long time, and I would rather reduce their user numbers than keep an account on that site

The ActivityPub talks and chat at @oggcamp have motivated to properly embrace the Fediverse.
A dedicated server has been acquired and initial research on what stack I'll use to self host my own platform from ActivityPub blog comments to, photo rolls, live streams and video hosting
Hopefully this will make for a talk at #oggcamp next year

@wimpy @oggcamp I absolutely would have done a talk around #fediverse topics if I had bandwidth. Happy to chat through things if you like - the @FLOSS_Weekly conversation that went out this week was fairly expansive beyond just Mastodon. Love to hear you’re thinking about it! I know @webmink has a bunch of hosted social things as well.

@methoddan @wimpy @oggcamp I am @[email protected] and our studio is @forgeandcraft (both Pixelfed instances). I imported my Instagram to my main one. The nice part is I can boost those posts into my Mastodon feed if I choose to do so.

@wimpy @methoddan I don’t know whether all instances / self-hosted offer that option; for the pixelfed.social instance it was a simple option in settings, *but* it doesn’t show them as part of my “number of posts” on Pixelfed which is a bit odd.
