#HurricaneHelene, #Hurricane, or #Helene
None showed up - even though when I typed them, they had FAR MORE USES in the "autocomplete" drop-down than the hashtags that DID SHOW UP!
Fix this please!

@peachfront @Gargron Not a problem! This is STILL going on (Helene) and if Eugen wants people to go to the #fediverse for information, they need to do better!

@jgobble @peachfront The Mastodon trending hashtag algorithm is not well suited for multi-day events. It looks at how many times a hashtag has been used today compared to the previous day, so if the hashtag is used consistently over the course of multiple days it will not come up as trending. There isn't a quick fix for this, but I'll raise it internally.
