@chris Is Saskatchewan a coin flip or a by-election?

The NDP gets up to 26 but SK at 34. Apparently NDP have swept all seats, currently, in Regina. Including taking some cabinet members of the SK Party The Popular Vote continues to narrow. The NDP have 55% of the vote in Regina.
Seats Leading (Popular Vote)
SKP: 34 (55.8%)
NDP: 26 (36.2%)
Seats Outstanding: 0
Needed for Majority: 31 -
@RuthODay It's a big rural/urban divide. The overall popular vote right now is 55% SKParty but in Regina it's 55% NDP.

From BC, where the NDP seem to have won in a fucking coin flip of an election that is coming down to as little as a dozen votes, good luck, comrade.

@michaelrussell Oh! I just checked. None of the above! Literally! The seat becomes vacant!
(which I guess means *eventually* it goes to a by-election, but not immediate?) Weird!

SaskParty is incumbent right-wing
NDP is left-wing (and Saskatchewan was in fact NDP for a very long time decades ago)Personally, Go NDP!

No seat change on the latest update but the popular vote tightening to 54% and 38%.
Starting to get the feeling that the SK Party will pull this out of the fire.
Big takeaway: the rural divide in Canada is very very real, everywhere.
But also: The right wing is *not* inevitable in Canada
-
@chris Sask polls got it hilariously wrong - and yeah, the rural/urban has been hugely building, it now defines Canadian politics
-
Well i hope they recount that asap
-
-
@MatWright Just looking at the polls right now. I can only think that the polls were too heavily weighted in urban or suburban ridings. I don’t see the popular votes getting that tight. Or perhaps more people came out in the rural areas than in previous elections. who knows!

We could be nearing the call for the Sask Party. CBC is projecting SKParty is at 30 elected. Moose Jaw is key. The NDP had hoped to flip that riding but it looks like they are coming up just short.
We are at 89% of voting stations reporting and 15 of the 61 ridings have completed all counting for tonight.
