Time-lapse process for Day 20: Uncharted
Gilligan’s Island was my happy place as a kid. I would come home from school and watch at least 2 episodes which were played back to back. My mom *hated* the show but I loved it.
I tried to squeeze in as many Easter eggs into this sketch as I could - the WWII Magnetic mine, the island volcano, the cave, quicksand and more. Watched a couple ep while I drew which was also fun.

What you don’t see here are the THREE attempts I made before this one. Couldn’t get the grid size and the flame shape just right. Much trial and error. I like how it turned out in the end though. Gotta push a few pixels every now and then.

It’s amazing how subtle changes in eye position can make a character look spot on or “off”. Struggled a bit with Bender’s eyes here. Didn’t want him to look mean or have “resting robot face” but slightly drunk or off-kilter with his rusty beard growth. Very fun to draw. #Inktober #Futurama #HumanArt #LineaSketch
