@ada I use it on my android phone. Great for avoiding adverts on YT and easy downloads. Been using Freetube due to lack of Newpipe app (many have pined for it) on the desktop. This uses an android layer. Will certainly give it a go.

How's freetube on desktop as oppose to browser + ublock? I've been a bit too lazy to test out Freetube, even though it sounds like a good option to listen to spotify playtlist (are they the same one?)

@ada Freetube works well. If anything better than Newpipe on droid. Doesn't like a lot of subscriptions (common fault as relying on rss not to trigger YT blocks) and only good at downloading audio (video dloads without audio so you have to merge 2 files)

@ada Yes. I think Freetube let's you listen to various sources besides YT incl Band camp.

@emsquared Download isn't too much of an issue for me - I've been using RSS, MPC-HC and yt-dlp instead; as well as JDownloader. However none of these works with the new age gate.

But the easier the better. I don't watch youtube as much now. I shall give that a try.
