7. In Visible Silence - The Art Of Noise (1986)
I first heard of The Art Of Noise when I caught the video for "Peter Gunn" on a TBS music video show (before we had MTV). But it was the pseudo-computer generated Max Headroom and the song "Paranoimia" that really got me. I bought the cassette and disappointed it didn't have the single version of "Paranoimia", but the album fascinated me, even the faux jazz of "Eye Of The Needle". I had to find more.

@wbwolf Great choice. Best of the non Ztt albums I always thought.

@emsquared Honestly, it was In No Sense? Nonsense! that really sealed the deal for me. After hearing the rest of the albums, I see In Visible Silence as a bridge album between ZTT and what JJ and Anne could do on their own. But this turned out to be good entry point for the uninitiated.

@wbwolf I think bridge is a good way to see it. I think it took me a while to be on board with things like Max Headroom (much as I loved his show) and teaming up with Tom Jones for Kiss but then I was young and pretentious (Moi?).
