@emsquared I don't know how to say it any other way. It's like how it's impossible for me to ask someone if they'd like a cup of tea without sounding like Mrs Doyle from Father Ted
-
@renegaderich They do tho don't they tho?
I know. It's still my go-to accent for those two words. -
@renegaderich And yes. Mrs Doyle is the standard for tea too. Go on, go on, go on.
-
@emsquared
Take that bloody bubble perm wig off! -
@emsquared I'm still sad that the last time I went to a jazz club, there was no-one there saying "Welcome to Jazz Club"
-
@renegaderich Ha. I bet jazz clubs are still sick of that but yeah you at least feel the urge to utter "niiiice"
-
@omnicaritas wot *and* the Brookside moustache?
-
@renegaderich I *still* say "I'll get me coat" in a Brummie accent.
-
@emsquared it would be rude not to.
I don't think we'll ever get utterly ubiquitous sayings and references again, at least not while what people watch is so fragmented among a billion channels and streaming servces.
-
@emsquared
No. Keep that. -
@omnicaritas Ah good. I was getting used to that even if my other half wasn't.
-

@renegaderich hmmm. I think you may well be right. I mean a streaming or too-tube star won't be addressing the same broad viewing public. I mean when I pass the theatres here and see a name I don't know doing a one person show only to find they're some tik tok star I'm not aware of. As you say very fragmented now.
