No new blog post today. I finally bought a new laptop earlier this week, but only really had time/energy to set it up now. (Also been trying out/pondering different Linux distributions, plus fixing a wifi issue.)

For whoever was wondering which laptop I bought: a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (16GB RAM, 512GB SDD, and an AMD 7 7730U processor... also a backlit keyboard), via a Black Friday sale. Basically a better/newer version of the IdeaPad I'd been using, but was showing its age.

@box464 currently trying Fedora 41. Lenovo apparently offers a few computers with it (or Ubuntu) pre-installed as Linux options, which might explain why the Fedora logo appears on bootup below Lenovo's. I'd been a longtime Linux Mint Cinnamon user, but was interested in something more Mac OS-like (and PopOS seems to be in a transition period).

@dtgeek I liked PopOs last time I tried it. Mint was always my stable go to tho. It just works.

@box464 I do have a Mac Mini as my desktop computer, though mostly as a media server (and a "mainstream" operating system if needed) these days.
