RE: #tiktokrefugee I'm going to be that one person: Welcome to fedi! Thank you, sincerely, for choosing an opensource alternative to the large social networks.
Small heads up, some people might consider "refugee" to be a loaded word so instead of tiktokrefugee I'd suggest using e.g #NewToFedi and/or #tiktokban instead, but regardless I'm happy to see people moving here!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in a reply, I also suggest following @FediTips for tips and tricks.
Good luck!

Hello, nice to meet you dude!
What is the youtube alternative on this platform and how do I navigate. I understand posting for the post part but if I wanted to start posting video content does it just go here or is there another place to upload?
And is there a way to create groups, so I can start directing those who want to break away from centralization to go to.

Hey there!
The YouTube alternative on here is PeerTube. If you just want to follow accounts and comment etc you can do that from Mastodon. If you want to actually upload videos, you need to sign up for a PeerTube account on a PeerTube server.
There's lots of info about all this at:

Groups depends on what you mean by that? There's nothing directly like Facebook Groups, but there are various methods for chatting about particular topics.
