Why? Short-sighted policy and corporate greed.

@dangillmor I'll even settle for a basic, no-frills pickup truck with an economical V6 and a stick shift. Instead, you can only find ones with butt coolers and various monthly subscription packages for 3x the price I'm willing to pay.
