While unboxing some remaining boxes from the move, I found a couple of nice ball-point pens. One of them doesn’t have brand or case; the other is this one. I don’t know this brand. The warranty leaflet was printed in 1975. This pen is almost 50 years old, was never used, and when I tried it, it immediately worked, ink flowing as if I used the pen just yesterday. Conversely, I have three BIC pens I got two months ago, and NONE OF THEM WORKS.

@morrick Oh! Cross pens are quite well regarded. That one is a classic example. I'm pretty sure I've got one or two in the house as well.

@octothorpe @morrick That reminds me -- I've had this NeXT Cross pen for about 30 years. It was a gift from someone related to a NeXT employee. Haven't used it in probably 20 years at least. The plastic over the logo used to be clear but it's yellowed with age.
It doesn't write, maybe because I used a cheap knockoff ink refill. I'm going to Staples today anyway. I think I'll pick up a new refill.
