@LeftistLawyer @MattMerk My theory is that it'll stay pretty consistent but not pick up much steam, until bluesky goes to shit (and considering its business model, you know it will) and then picks up steam again.
But outside that, I also think it depends on where you are, bluesky has always been more of an easy sell in the US for instance.

Leaving the twitters/facebooks/instagrams of the world has been good for my mental health, and no matter how "not bad" bluesky is now, I trust its management as much as I can throw them, especially once they need to start making money with it.

Indeed, it would be very interesting to see how Bluesky is making money now. Is it all invested capital that they are burning through, or is there some other revenue source? Are they monetizing their user base in some crafty manner? Perhaps a few of the journalists flocking their now could do some reporting on this. Is free stuff really free?

If it follows the enshittification process as laid out by @pluralistic , it will first deliver great benefit to the user, until the user base is locked in, and large enough to attract advertisers. Then the value will be shifted away from the users, to the advertisers. And when enough advertisers are locked in, that value will go to the primary shareholders.I predict this will be no different for Bluesky.
