Got to admit the base M4 Mac Mini (finally with 16Gb as the base memory) is a pretty good deal.

@emsquared
Don't do it! -
@spytfyre And there I was about to list a kidney online. Dammit.
-
@emsquared but is it an APPLE iKidney?
-
@spytfyre No. But for another six hundred quid I'm sure Apple would try to sell me one. If Steve Jobs was still alive he'd probably do a very good job of convincing me that only Apple iOrgans are the right choice as part of my Apple lockin, sorry eco-system.
-
@spytfyre ps: can I hire you to periodically say "don't do it"? as no matter the situation that advice would absolutely be the most appropriate.
-
@emsquared remember, ye dinnae "own" apple products. Yer never admin. Ye cannae install fuck all we dinnae "let" ye hae.
Yer graced wi the honour ay haein the beautiful device tae make yer mince coupon look less like a burst bag ay dog shite while ye haud it flat like a plate in front ay yur mug. When we decide it's auld, we'll jist kill the CPU "fur tae save yer battery life" then ye kin gie it tae yer granny, pretendin yer daein her a massive favour ya hollow wee next gen sucker -
@spytfyre "ye cannae gie yer granny yer auld Mac" obviously has a song structure than can all to easily be borrowed.
-
@spytfyre very funny BTW and dead on the money.
-
@emsquared I'm still using my mac mini I bought in 2010 and it works just fine. Still getting the regular OS updates for free, running my work remote desktop without issues. If I had the money, I'd definitely go that way again for a new computer.
-
@emsquared actually, maybe 2011
-
@Winstonwells I think my old Mac Mini is circa that era. I don't run MacOS on it anymore though but yes it was a good buy in terms of longevity.
