As an American, I see from a distance the pattern of media and money turning average people against the NHS in the UK.

For, I can assure you, it is not. You need to fight to keep what you already have. If you let it go, you will NEVER get it back.

@JustChapman It's American corporations which are gutting the NHS in UK.

@Rastal @JustChapman yeah, if Yanks could find a way to stop that it would be grand.
Pretty much the only people going about about Private Healthcare can help the NHS are in the pay of American Healthcare companies, one of them is our Health Secretary (whom everyone hates) -

@JustChapman As a fellow American, I concur. Keep the #NHS and elect people who will improve it. Don't let the oligarchs take it away.

@[email protected] "I bet more middlemen taking a slice of the money would help" is such a fucking weird argument for people to try and make (as that's what it boils down to, in this case)
by "weird" I mean "deceitful" buuuut -
@JustChapman @Lazarou @Rastal A worthy goal, and a life well spend. Should I manage to get out of poverty somehow despite our neoliberal capitalist overlords sucking the world dry I'd love to do so as well.
Everyone in our broken society will tell you you're supposedly "unproductive" with your time, but we all know better.

@WorkWithKirk @JustChapman Ain't from the UK, but fact is that there are none. Our whole political systems are so utterly fucked up there is no real choice anymore, literally everyone is driving us off the same cliff at various speeds.
The core problem can't be solved by any singular nation, sadly. It's the international financial system and how it got shaped mainly ~50 years ago that drives us down this path, something wealthy elites got intense control over. Same people own all of our media.
