Kamala #Harris after she is interrupted by a demonstrator: "Ours is about a fight for democracy and your right to be heard. That is what is on the line in this election. Look, everybody has a right to be heard, but right now I am speaking."

She handled it masterfully. It gave her the opportunity to demonstrate strength, but also to illustrate how she will listen to other opinions, and how this is fundamental to democracy. Video is cued to the just before heckling... She has such poise. What a leader.

I saw that. While on the one hand, I'm bothered by the protestors who seem to blame her for what the orange stain put in motion (don't tell me that Nettayahoo would be doing this if the orange stain hadn't handed them Jerusalem back during his 'presidency') and I'm really angry at any protestors who seem ready to throw away our country for this... on the other hand, I'm very very glad they are keeping attention on the subject. We have to hold her feet to the fire when she's elected. -

We really don't know. It could be Gaza protestors or it could be MAGA provocateurs. The thing that is important is how she handled it. Not with hate and rage as they would do, but with firmness and understanding.

True, we don't know for sure who they were. I suspect they were Gaza protestors. She was very respectful considering how loud they were with the whistle and all.Honestly, the genocide is ripping my soul to pieces, but I'm well aware that Harris is the only presidential candidate who will even try to make things better. The orange stain would be happy to see the place nuked if he thought he could build his hotels on the ashes.

Agreed. She has been telegraphing that she will take a different line with Israel, but it is not possible to come right out and say it now due to electoral politics. The only way she can end the war is if she is elected, and hopefully with sufficient majorities in both houses. Netanyahu is doing everything he can to defeat her. That should register with these folks.

It just doesn't register, though. It's terrifying how they can't seem to see through the cloud of despair.Every day I seesaw between hope and horror. I really don't know if my heart can take much more of this.

Yeah. In many ways it is a failure of imagination. People of good will look at the horror and can't imagine it could get worse, but it can always get worse. If Trump is elected it will get 100 times worse for Palestine. So, they are actually working against the interests of those they profess to care about. But it is complicated and people want to see things as clear choices.
