@GottaLaff It's like after 9/11 Giuliani suggested NYC elections be suspended while the city recovered from the attack. Even with the city reeling, NY'ers were like GTF out of here! They look for any excuse to hold and/or steal power.

@fulanigirl @GottaLaff I remember that as a pivotal moment. In the aftermath of 9/11, Rudy had managed to get NYers to put a hold on our growing impatience with his increasingly megalomanical tendencies in the interest of rebuilding and moving forward. And then he suggested suspending elections, and *poof*. We all remembered what it was we hated about the guy.
