Fellow terriers unable to leave a bone alone of the Fediverse, can you help?
I've recently ported my phone number to a new provider. All is sweet, except that the SIM details under Settings (this is Android) show the original pre-port phone number.
I can't see how to change this. I've found an ancient motorola that can do it, but it doesn't "stick". I know it's trivial, but if there's a way of sorting this, I'd love to hear it.
Nothing I've found on the net works or is relevant. -
@withaveeay I used to work for both Voda and O2. From what I remember, it isn't something you can permanently set on the SIM.
You need to ask your new operator to send the updated phone number.
Not all operators will/can do this.
And, even if they can, not all customer service agents will know how to do it.
