@octothorpe seems on brand, actually.

@CStamp if you find the original episode, you can see just how bad The Prince Room was. All she wanted was indeed that, a theme room with a Prince vibe. ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE HER A LITTLE PLASTIC TOY RED CORVETTE.
The indignity!
She cried. I felt so bad.

@Drwave highly.

@deliberately_me THAT IS BURNED INTO MY BRAIN FOREVER! The disrespect!!!!
-
@octothorpe Which was the one of these with the extremely gay (shhhh, it's a secret!) Frank? The one wherein they retributively redecorated a frat house room?
-
@octothorpe I felt bad for her. I hope she ended up with something she liked.
-
@isocat i have no idea.

@CStamp I need to see followups for this show. It’s pretty clear a large % of the time they’re unhappy. Is there no recourse?
There’s a reason you have to be licensed to be am interior designer (rather than a ‘decorator’).

@octothorpe "If Traders don’t want Grandma’s braided rug sprayed purple or the legs sawed off an heirloom chair, they had better ship the items to the next county for the duration. And all participants sign a contract that essentially says tough luck if they don’t like what they get."
" TLC has no firm reparations policy, but adjustments are sometimes made “on an ad hoc basis.”"

@octothorpe "“So much of the time people loved it,” Davis says in this week’s issue of PEOPLE. “But sometimes they hated it!” And when they did? Davis says there wasn’t much she could do other than offering a shoulder to ugly cry on.
“You just talked them through it, listened to what they had to say, and then go, ‘Bye, Felicia.’”"
That is cold.

@octothorpe OMG, this article shows most of the places on that episode! And people made fun of the poor woman who cried when the fireplace she asked not be touched was touched. Fortunately, the fireplace could easily be fixed.

@CStamp yikes. The things folks do to be on TV.
