As well as the bizarre need for making women procreate, we could consider his need to target childless folks as non contributors to society.

@vfrmedia There could well be some resentment. There's two ways of looking at childless folks.
Either as suspicious, or as folks who can help you and your kids. As in, it takes a village.
But I think it is a case of sacrificing folks lives to procreate and not have the time to question policy or protest if you're just trying to survive.
It's harder to protest if you and your family is at risk.
Look at the clamp down in the UK.

@vfrmedia but there's definitely pressure on childless folks when folks ask if you are going to have kids.
I do wish folks wouldn't ask, but it's natural curiosity. It gets Hella awkward, especially if there's a reason you can't.
But I'm sure if Vance got his way we'd be consigned to the dumpster.
But you can see the racism, and the misogyny. The desire to just get women pumping out kids. With the wife and the kids being objectified.

@onepict even in England I feel too awkward to go to a lot of places as they are all geared to family groups, and a single brown man may be viewed as a threat (especially in the East with all the racial tension, a third of folk round here actively support Reform)

@vfrmedia ouf, that's not a comfortable spot.
Racism is definitely a huge factor.

@onepict of course if I had a wife and kids, particularly if they were mixed race, the gammons would be even angrier - and I'd be constantly wary about their safety, just as my own parents were - which is why British Asian parents get a reputation for being overprotective, which is partly true but it must have worked (I made it to my 50s )

@vfrmedia My ancestors came from the south est of England. They totally would have voted reform.
I think with the gammons there's this idea instilled since the Victorian times. This underserved superiority murderous complex of empire. It's disintegrating and they want to blame the folks who aren't them.
They always seem like they need less salt in their diet.
It's pretty much been systematically encoded since birth. Your parents did well.

@onepict it's just the modern far right version of nazi Germany's 1930s "to give the Fรผhrer a child" rhetoric by Putin and his US sock puppets.
The warmongers need cannon fodder, the billionaires need more plebs to consume their stuff.
I don't tell procreators what to do. You're welcome to my tax money for your schools. I don't want anything in return, except to keep your nose out of my life.
Besides - assuming it even is a choice is fucking privilege.

@fedops yeah it's definitely the same.
They are telling on themselves.
It's definitely privilege informing the entitlement that they feel they need to ask.

They want to use the quiver of kids to work in the mines, factories and fields like they did back in the olden days before regulation. When they use kids for labor, they'll need lots of them when they get killed on the job because they'll also get rid of unions and OSHA regulations.

Which means #JDVance views children not as a blessing, but as something harmful and burdensome to their parents, which he can use as a weapon against them.
Monstrous.
But not surprising. If you argue with an anti-abortion person long enough, sooner or later they'll blurt out something to the effect of โjust keep your legs closed,โ which demonstrates the same sickening belief as Vance.
Conservatives don't love children. Not in the slightest.

@argv_minus_one I think sometimes abusive people see children as an extension of themselves to shape and mold.
So children aren't seen as people. They are seen as possessions.
