Okay, Fediverse, a call for guidance and suggestions.

I want to have a federated calendar of events for a small group. I want to move away from Google*. I don't have the time/spoons to self-host, so I'm looking for:
1) What host software offers this as a feature? It can do everything else, e.g.: I've heard Friendica can do this.
2) What open enrollment Fediverse-connected servers/nodes/hosts could I join to experiment with this idea?

Friendica and Hubzilla both have calendars. I don't know if there are other ones.

Not sure about which servers are good because I only briefly tried both of them, but here are lists of the ones you can join:
