@vwbusguy I don't know if that exists, but would be nice to have a Slack replacement (with channels, reactions, integrations and stuff) that would also be accessible. It's a huge endeavor for a single dev though.

@vwbusguy It would be cool to read the files from the "SMS Import/Export" app on Nextcloud since the Nextcloud "Phone Sync" app stopped working.

This allows users to connect a Talk conversion to one or more external services, like IRC, Slack, MS Teams or more. The administrator has to have enabled this feature and users can then simply configure it […]

Seems like bridging to existing external servers, not hosting them within NC itself. -

@Brett_E_Carlock Correct. I don't know where to begin with Matrix in this way, but IRC *could* be possible with their new app setup that doesn't require PHP. That said, why would you do this in Nextcloud rather than just running the IRC server directly? I'm not trying to shut it down - just trying to get a sense of a possible use case to do this with Nextcloud?

@vwbusguy
I use a hosted VPS I don't have root/shell on, and having one less IT sidejob to manage sounds attractive, while still being able to improve privacy posture for my family.
