It is not bad!

@nuthatch rearranging/augmenting. Since I got the PSAudio BHK amp earlier this year, I used the Hegel 190 as a preamp. So the Hegel now goes into System 2, in the second bedroom, and I put in the matching BHK preamp. It’s *just* an analogue preamp, no streaming/DAC, so everything gets plugged in, balanced, into it.

@nuthatch The Hegel was always destined for System 2. Two things happened: the Hegel really doesn’t like being a preamp in S1, because it only has unbalanced out, which caused a buzzing simple cheater plugs didn’t nuke. The second was the BHK preamp went on sale, so I scooped it up.

Hahahahahahaha…
I need more XLR cables!
Had to compromise System 1. The May DAC is gonna be in System 2 for awhile, as I physically don’t have the room to shelve it in S1.
So my Brooklyn Bridge is acting as DAC and streamer, in bypass mode, XLR to the BHK preamp.

Funny thing… the BHK goes 1-100, rather than in negative dB notation… I’m currently playing at ‘7’, and it’s as loud as I would possibly want at 12AM.
I now know what these speakers are capable of. Everything is richer, has more texture, more spatial precision, and space.
Gonna put a record on tomorrow.
