@lapcatsoftware I’m all for taxes being paid, but one thing I find weird about this is… Ireland gave them concessions that they didn’t give to others, so… why isn’t the entity (Iteland and by extension the EU) that did the wrong thing being held accountable?

@octothorpe It seems odd to say “by extension the EU”, but anyway the EU is not in the business of being punitive toward its member states, otherwise the EU wouldn’t last very long.

Although for clarification, IRE is an EU member, and it was the EU that found Apple in violation of IRE giving a company an unfair concession. The EU fines its own member countries with some frequency.
