Once again the local Barnes & Noble magazine section is void of anything related to design. Seriously wondering what it would take to run a pop-up magazine stand that could run adjacent to farmers markets, coffee shops, or night markets.

@Brilliantcrank I'd come. Question is, what titles would we want it to include? And it better have international titles. Would love to hear what design magazines and journals others would love to see sold.

@AnthonyBaker @Brilliantcrank I used to devour design magazines (many bought at my local Barnes & Noble or Borders). I’m honestly curious which ones even still exist in this day and age.

Design magazines in print.
Design magazines in print.
Earlier this week a short thread on design magazines took place on Mastodon. Tom Carmony stated, “I used to devour design magazines (many bought at my local Barnes & Noble or Borders). I’m honestly curious which ones even still exist in this day and age.” As I buy and enjoy

@Brilliantcrank @tomcarmony @AnthonyBaker indeed, RIP Print. Like Tom, every week I’d comb Borders’ magazine section for design magazines, and magazines that had great design (ex: Alpinist, Raygun, etc). Print however, was special. It was the New York Times, the design Publication of Record.

@octothorpe @Brilliantcrank @tomcarmony Remember the PRINT annuals? Or CommunicationArts? Or HOW?
