My one bit of advice for Tim Walz: If you come up with a line as memorable as
"I coached football for enough years to know that when somebody draws up a playbook, they plan on using it"
and you know have a big speech coming up in a few days? Maybe keep the line in your pocket until you're on stage, and resist tweeting it out a few days before
[I've got a notebook with quips dating back to 2011 that are still waiting for the right speech to drop them into, and I've been retired for 7 years!]

Would generally agree with you, but have been watching him deliver the same lines for a couple weeks now, and the thing is, with every retelling the delivery gets better. Walz is not a trained public speaker. But he has a natural gift, and he learns each time he does something and tweeks it. 90% of the people who watched tonight have never seen his stump speech, so it is good that they got the practiced version on game day.
