My amazing and most thoughtful wife gave me most nostalgic bday gift I can even think of: Used Nokia N900 in a great condition. This is the phone out my whole long history I have best memories of. And you know what, after playing with it for a day, it's not a rose-glasses, it STILL is an amazing device ahead of its time. Sure, CPU is underpowered by today's standards, but the rest? Trying to bring it up to date as much as possible due to expired certs and everything, but man, this is amazing!!!

@herrorange WHOA that is cool. I always wanted one of those things! :prami_contented:

@major yeah, it was such an amazing device back in the days, I remember being able to run cisco anyconnect vpn on it in cli at the time, when nothing like that existed on Android or iOS, even Blackberries didn't have VPN to my knowledge. I sold it exactly because Nokia announced they stop developing OS for it and I jumped back to Android.

@jwildeboer @major oh, wow, those were something else and so ahead of its time. I was dreaming about N800, we had a Nokia flagship store next to my work place at the time and I stopped by almost every week to play around with it
