I feel like the world I was promised as a child was robbed from me. Where men of good conscience and strong character were bound to find success.
Instead, it seems like the scam artists and those with compromised morals are the ones who rise above.
I'm a man out of time, bound by principals and an inviolable knowledge of right versus wrong. And because of that, I'll never get ahead. That's a somber realization.

@gardiner_bryant I feel like you need this quote:
"The world will ask you who you are, and if you don't know, the world will tell you." ~Carl JungTime has not remotely run out for you -- unless you give up now.

Thank you, Jason! I appreciate that.
When I said "out of time" I didn't mean I've run out of time, I meant more that I'm "out of place in this age."

@gardiner_bryant Actually, I'm going to double down with another quote which I hope inspires positivity:
"Pain changes shape, but it never disappears. You can’t control what hurts or breaks you, but you can control how you choose to move forward. Fight for what you love, because no one else will do it for you. Every moment in your life is an opportunity to change who you are. Don’t define yourself by what you lost, but by what you do with what’s left." - Keanu Reeves

@gardiner_bryant I figured that's what you meant! But I still felt like mentioning time in a more literal sense, because we rob ourselves of time if we give up early.
