@m2m an interesting one for just general world facts / information is The Continent, which is based in Africa.

They even allow you to subscribe through WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, or email. You can see their website at https://www.thecontinent.org/subscribe for the relevant links.

In German(y) there are @correctiv_org and @Krautreporter which were AFAIK funded by crowdfunding and do investigative journalism on high-impact topics frequently.
