@ai6yr I suppose it is both humorous and not. The reality is that it is true, the reality is also that we saw this potential and went down that road anyways. Are we better off for it? Maybe.

@ai6yr damn, called the shot from a century out. Not bad

@stevensanderson @ai6yr I always hated the wired telephone for the same reason. I used to unplug it for a few days at a time to eliminate the interruptions, and sometimes people would eventually complain that I hadn't answered their calls for weeks.
A later solution was to keep the line tied up with an internet connection.
It seems that today's mobile phones should be so much easier to silence temporarily but the interface designers are evidently psychopaths so I keep it far from my workspace.

@libroraptor @stevensanderson @ai6yr I've had good luck with Do Not Disturb mode on my iPhone when I don't want to be interrupted (and Sleep Mode which it automatically sets). My phone is pretty much always in silent mode.
With Apple Watch, notifications are a bit less obtrusive since they're more quickly dismissed, and DND / Sleep mode is easily set/cleared from the watch.

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] I love the Apple Watch’s subtle way of vibrating your wrist for a notification. My favorite feature of my Apple Watch was the silent alarms that’d wake me up that way.
