Today, I was ID’d for Mango and Passionfruit Squash and I can't figure out why.

It's a soft drink... it doesn't contain CBD or anything.
The only thing that it *could* be is that it's in a glass bottle... but I bought Marmite, which is also in a glass container, and thats arguably more dangerous anyway
-
@andycarolan Sugar content?
-
@andycarolan I bet it’s just been marked as age-required by accident.
-
@neil I did wonder that, but if that was the case, wouldn't we all be ID’d for chocolate bars, cakes and well... bags of sugar? lol
-
@andycarolan I was thinking of energy drinks - oops.
-
@robb Probably true, but it's far more fun trying to guess what stupid law would require concentrated fruit juice to be subject to a Think25 policy
-
@andycarolan What the... That's weird.
-
@neil Yeah, this was nowhere near the energy drinks lol
-
@retrosponge This is the UK... nothing is weird any more lol
-
@andycarolan I know I learned a couple of weeks ago that you're limited on how much paracetamol you can buy as somebody I follow on here wanted a bunch, not to off themselves or anything I can't remember why, but they had to go to multiple different shops to get the quantity they wanted.
-
@andycarolan Fun fact - the checks on energy drinks aren’t law, it’s just an agreement the shops all decided to do.
-
@retrosponge yup, there’s limits on pain killers. Nobody follows you to make sure that you’re not going elsewhere to buy more though lol
-
@robb That is an intriguing factoid! I always assumed it was a law
-
@andycarolan So it's completely pointless then.
-

So, you got stopped by a cop and ordered to show ID?
I can tell you why: they did it because they could.
-
@retrosponge Yup, 100% lol
-
@starbreaker Nope, in a store lol
