The average #ActivityPub interaction.
You know mansplainer, you weren't talking to me, but that's exactly what I've considered doing entirely, and lean more toward that direction every step of the way.
Also I have written one, or rather several, but thanks for playing along.

I have written two to four (depending on how you count them) parsers for ActivityPub in three separate languages and written at least that many schemas if not more (again depending on how you count them).
Your experience can be different. It's okay. But we also need to level set on two things.
1. People who disagree with you are not ignorant or unmotivated.
2. We may have very different goals for our systems and those goals will shape what the software looks like.
But, why even bother?

yeah really on all of it especially the "why even bother" part. smh. @[email protected]

@hrefna pretty sure that guy has never so much as looked at anything related to activitypub. Pretty sure he's just a rust guy who's mad that I dared to question whether sprinkling some rust on a problem would magically solve it

@jenniferplusplus @hrefna as someone who got to roughly 80% of the way to a functional AP implementation in rust before deciding this was a horrible waste of time, lol, lmao
you can improve a few of the issues with mastodon specifically but like you're still stuck with the maddening hell of activitypub

@hrefna I still maintain that we need a reality docuseries where we track down these assholes, sit in their living room and ask them "what the fuck?".
