In the UK, the Brexit vote in 2016 was supposedly about sovereignty and being free of “undemocratic” European laws and courts.

When the UK government tried to avoid seeking approval of Parliament the UK Supreme Court decided it should be voted upon in said democratically elected and sovereign Parliament.

Provoking this response from the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail is owned by Viscount Rothermere. His ancestor wrote in the same paper in favour of fascism.

Trump is a front.

@serendip1959 Trump is indeed a front, and Brexit put a lot of wind in his sails. Bannon had a big finger in the Brexit pie (wildly switching metaphors, I know) and did a lot, with Farage's help, to stir xenophobia and racism, helping lay the groundwork for the appalling vote to Brexit.
