I’ve been thinking about this anonymously produced RPG for practicing anti-authoritarian tactics since I ran into it last week.

It dovetails well with my general sense that acting extremely normal online and off is probably a strong move for most people at this time.
@kissane lol, it's not a rocket-propelled grenade.

@kissane I downloaded the pdf but if I try to open it I get file not found. The file is only 856 bytes.

I put a quick mirror up here: http://neuralgraffiti.com/SurviveTheTyrant.pdfI don't promise to keep it up forever, but hopefully it helps you out.
ETA: Since this has been boosted a few times, I'll note that I've also uploaded it to archive.org: https://archive.org/details/survive-the-tyrant

@joriki I think for me it’s a question of whether posting is my best lever, or something else. Opsec in service of specific plans is different from…idk, general cowering? But it’ll be a personal call for lots of people, and many can’t choose to be low-visibility.

@kissane In a pervasively authoritarian society, actually playing/running this game would get one flagged for attention. Instead of a resistance-themed game set in the present-day world, perhaps it’d make more sense to see scenarios set in cliché roleplaying worlds (D&D/Cthulhu/&c.) only designed to rehearse transferable experience for resistance in a plausibly deniable manner, while looking to informers like just some goofy nerd shit with hobbits or something

@kissane I actually worked on developing / writing a couple of RPGs, so if I lose my job, this might be something I'd actually do (cuz I'd have time on my hands then)

@annares Let me know if you do and I’ll help however I can, as a…non-playing admirer of RPGs
