Some countries choose not to wash their eggs, and such eggs don't need to be refrigerated.

Did you know many countries don’t refrigerate their eggs? It’s strange if you’ve only ever known chilled eggs, but the reason for it makes a lot of sense.

@bascule yeah, in europe they vaccinate the chickens, so no salmonella. In the US, they wash the eggs instead… but then refrigeration is necessary.
