The field of major candidates is set in Mid Island-Pacific Rim for #BCElection2024!
The #BCGreens announced their candidate will be Environmental Advocate and Educator Ross Reid.
The former #BCUnited candidate Joshua Dahling announced on Friday that he will not run as independant and is withdrawing.
The #BCNDP Josie Osborne is seeking re-election.
The #BCCP is presenting former Hockey Coach Andrew Hayduk.

@chris I don’t know how these things work. Is an incumbent being in the cabinet a strengthener of the incumbent effect? I would assume so

@dx i would think generally, yes as long as the government is reasonably popular. If the government is very unpopular then it might have the opposite effect of going down with the ship (as happened to a lot of BC Liberal Ministers in 2017/2020) but I don't get that sense in this election.

Wait… Mid-Island-Pacific Rim has 2 Joshua Dahlings, one a former BCU, the other a former hockey coach, and both were planning to run for the Legislative Assembly, and one of them bowed out?
The odds seem unlikely? will look into this.
