Is there a "normie" or more mainstream instance for Lemmy?

Lemm.ee was specifically created during the reddit exodus as a way to manage the influx and is very loosey goosey. Unfortunately that means you have to block the horrible instances manually, but it is what you're looking for I believe

alternatives to republicanism
You calling spez's little playground and a far right “enlightened centrist” instance like . world “left-wing” makes it abundantly evident to anyone with more than half a brain and the slightest bit of education that any supposed alternatives to fascism you'd find acceptable would be effectively indistinguishable from fascism.
Only fascists and idiots would want to be appealing to fascists.
It's a very good thing that you don't feel welcome outside of your fascist echo chambers.

It's a well known fact that .world admins have wet dreams at night about spez seeing what good boys they've been and rewarding them by making them reddit admins and letting them suckle his little pigboy twig.

The USA is neither mainstream nor normal.
It's a literal fascist shithole.
President Musk is doing nazi salutes on live television and anyone calling him right of centre gets labelled as a communist and a terrorist.
No one who isn't a fascist wants that kind of shit to be considered mainstream or normal.

In any civilised society American “Democrats” are considered far right (Biden et al) to centre right (Sanders).
Republicans are self admitted fascist lunatics.
Don't expect American standards when you get out of your fascist echo chamber.

While I do agree that going on day 4 of Musks nazi salute is beating the dead horse, but a "centrist" space is hardly the solution. Even centrists should dunk on Trump and the fascist party. The issue is that politics bleeds into all the popular communities regardless of the community. We just need more non-political communities (or a harder non-political stance in non-political communities).
Wanting a centrist space, especially one that fits the American centrism, is wanting an echo chamber where you don't get the culture shock of discovering that you're not actually leftist.

No tolerance however ends up at the same point.
It's not like we know this person has Nazi tattoos or even what their views are. Maybe they literally just asked a question. If they do have Nazi tattoos, they can fuck off. If they think anyone who doesn't identify as strait is a bad person, they can fuck off. If they believe the q-anon conspiracys without question, they can fuck off.
But untill we talk to someone (assuming they are not visibly showing their extreme views like in your bar tender example) it literally doesn't make sense to judge people based on the information OP has provided. If more information comes out, I am open to changing my opinion, but for now I think you are being intolerant of people joining this platform simply because they ask for something that is not as left wing.

It's on your hands to help make this place mor normal. We need an influx of regular people who don't care about government garbage to create normal posts. At some point, their comments and posts will drown the left wingers and turn this place into a cat meme filled place that will be more enjoyable to participate in

Your analogy is really off the point. "Work" doesn't just mean "the product of force and displacement", it's a word in the English language with many different meanings, most being listed out in the picture below.
But the left-right political spectrum doesn't have different definitions as it is a term, with hierarchical ideologies being considered "right", non-hierarchical ideologies being considered "left", and milder ideological positions being considered "center". Even if the populace of one nation uses the terms to refer to ruling and opposing parties, it doesn't change the inherent definitions of them. -

much, MICH better than both the U.S. and Canada treat theirs.
and still not as well as they deserve.

Yes but this is Lemmy, where anyone who doesn’t think Capitalism = bad and billionaires should be shot is a nazi. Some people don’t want to think about politics all the time, especially when it’s so extreme (no I don’t believe half of American voters are nazis). I know the obsession with Elon’s salute made me avoid Lemmy and go back to my niche subreddits until I got bored of them.
-
I don't think this is semantics. It reminds me of the Elon Musk nazi salute thing: maybe we are all tired of leftist nitpicking but it's making people prone to misidentify it.

A good anime weeby analogy is that nazis are like the demons from Frieren.
They only learnt to speak the polite words so they can easily lie to us and kill us.
