The /r/piracy link to lemmy /c/piracy hit the reddit frontpage with 7K+ updoots!

Drag has a friend who got instance banned on first comment lmao
Lol!
Yeah it's a bit the wild west here, you can say fuck and post about whatever you want, but there are also some intricate rules on some servers/communities but peopke are mostly very helpful. This place IMO is absolutely fantastic.

Nicole the Polish girl from Toronto is my fediverse girlfriend, damnit. Get your own.
"The fediverse chick!"

My advice to newbies is to just sign up for whatever, then change later if ya need to. I think I tried 2 other instances before i found the one that fit best for me
Lemmy is very much lacking an account migration feature.

A lot of people are.

Oh good. It was just mass spamming. I was very confused when I got that same message from 3 different accounts, but it was the same message with the same links. I thought I was being targeted.

I see thank you
lemm.ee is a good general instance with access to c/piracy.
-
Im new to Lemmy too. Happy to be here.
Welcome!

Besides smaller complaints (every instance has their issues). .world has gotten too large. Many people have suggested that it close its doors for now so other instances can catch up.

I am very much aware

It was, and that is why a lot of us left .world

One less finger, or one extra finger?

@[email protected] and @[email protected], please accept your standing ovations!
Makes me smile to see people recognizing me outside of my Screenshot posts. I didn’t realize that I was known outside of the gaming community I post in though lol

What instance did you go to then? I don't keep up on "the best" instances, or those that defederate or block certain things. I was part of kbin.social at first, then moved to .world.

Good question. I don't know how many fingers a lemming has neither do I know how many a mouse has. I use a mouse in the prompt as @[email protected] does not know what animal is a lemming.

Lemm.ee the one that shows in my account name. They prioritize uptime and connection/association. We choose what instances and communities we want to see. Blocking is our responsibility.

The high drama is as hilarious as it is pathetic.

the year of the
snakelemmingOn a more serious note: I wonder if the year of Lemmy will never come. Constant de-federation and churn might splinter it again, much like distros did kinda splintered the Linux desktop.
I don't think defed has been that bad, and I think over time we'll get more features to avoid having to defed (aside from illegal content or spam).
Like users being able to block users and/or communities by instance, or admins being able to set default block lists for new users, or users being able to easily share block lists.
