Wonder how they'll do with the multi-dimensional foldy phone in 2032

I don't know why people bother to buy foldable phones, if you want bigger screen just buy tablet....smh...
Tablet has bigger screen plus it's cheaper than buying foldable phones -

I have a foldy phone, I'm never going back.
if you want bigger screen just buy tablet....smh
I did, multiple times, sooo many times in all manner of price points, sizes and brands. Do you know what happened to them? They started collecting dust within a couple weeks
I don't want to carry multiple devices, even when I do want to I can never get the habit to stick, so I never have the tablet when I need it the most
My foldy phone solves that issue immediately, it's a phone when I need a phone and a tablet when I need a tablet.

Why have a phone with a screen? Just use your desktop computer if you need it, smh
Why have a phone at all? Just ask a friend to use theirs if you need it ️ or try to just write a fuckin' letter? Damn kids...

Do you have one of those who fold along the longer side or the shorter one?

I have the book-style pixel 9 pro fold.
The clam-shell style is truly a gimmicky nostalgia-grab IMO

I'm just curious
Does the screen vertical folding bulge area (idk if it has its own name) somehow get in the way during day-by-day usage?

Do you mean the crease? Nah, I hardly notice it, I used to feel it when sliding my finger across one side to the next like to drag and drop things, but after awhile I stopped noticing that to

Why have a computer when you can just use one at the library? smh

tablet screen size is okay, but really the people who want bigger screens should be buying tvs. not to mention they have the advantage of being cheaper than tablets. but even tv screens can only get so big. a really cost effective way to get a big screen would just be to go to a movie theater. that’s like 10 dollars(?) for 2 hours of access to a huge screen.

In order to call your mom, you have to:
Pick a color
Pick a number
Pick a number
Pick a number
No, not that number, Nora just did that and it's not funny to get the same one twice
Hmm, you opened Instagram
Wanna try again?

Fold your phone in to a paper plane to enter airplane mode. It won't stop you from receiving calls, but it will look badass when your $2000 Samsung phone makes it several feet down the cul-de-sac

I tried a pixel 9 fold for a little while, it was neat but way overpriced for the novelty, and there are no cases worth a damn that aren't attached entirely by glue strips. Returned it and got a pixel 9 XL instead.

That's mine right now lol, I also had the OG Pixel Fold. I don't find it to be a novelty for me. Def a bit on the expensive side, but since I buy my phones through the carrier on EIP anyways it's meh.
I use the Poetic Spartan case and it's solid, it has the adhesive strips, but I don't use them (I just took em off) though it adds some heft, it's worth it considering the amount of drops my phone has taken its protected against lol

I had one of the Ghostek ones. I went through Best Buy (unlocked, to try Grapheneos; which handled switching screens much better than i expected) due to good return policy and no restock fees in Ohio.

Word.
Phone for, uh, phone stuff, while I'm out and about. Pixel 4a, $70 on eBay.
PC and TV screen for internet.
Crappy $25 tablet for reading epubs.
Lemmy: NO! I want all my use cases on ONE device that doesn't do any of them well!
OK, pay out the ass for it along with the associated global warming and ecosystem trashing. Oh, and the slave labor that took to produce it.
Lemmy: NO! Not like that!
