But the structural inequalities and sexism????
-
Outside of a few niches like computer science this is increasingly true in the US as well AFAIK.

Don't worry, men will go in the corporate world and make more money than women professors.

"I wish I could work at home tidying up the house for no salary and have no income of my own!"
As a fun aside: both my wife and I would both love to do this! Unfortunately it's just too tough financially in the modern world, so it's never a really serious discussion.
Plus we would have to flip a coin or something to decide who has to be the breadwinner.
We don't really have a relationship that revolves around power-roles though, so it's a bit of a different discussion.

This was my wifeβs experience while in her doctoral program in the States, as well. The structural misogyny and firm barriers to career progression kicked in when she moved to the private sector afterwards.

For education specifically, here's an APA article discussing the problem with a US context, but I have seen the same patterns across other Western education as well.
https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/04/boys-school-challenges-recommendations
Simply put, sit-and-listen education disadvantages boys, who also tend to receive more severe punishment than girls for the same behaviours. Add on to that gender stereotypes push boys to be dominant, and doing well at school is not cool for boys.
In general, there are a lot of issues we are simply blind to regarding men. Men are treated as disposable, always potential combatants in a war, never the victim and always the perpetrator of domestic violence and violent crime in general.

The fact is that there are not just men but only rich people at the top. My education was fucked up by a group of almost exclusively women.
But again, let's play gender war, those at the top haven't stolen enough.

Yeah, most men won't. Only the soulless assholes will.
-
We literally can't, not while the structures we live in are built to benefit men.
Equality will only come with structural change, which at times will look like reverse sexism. But if a woman is hired with half the publications, and it is twice as hard for a woman to get published (just as a fictional example), then it's not really reverse sexism even if it looks like that on the surface.

Soul-having (what's the opposite of soulless?) people will just be forced to work in the corporate world without making more money... -
I'm sure this will turn into a men vs women comment section ; which is exactly the problem because it's actually rich vs. poor.

It's rich men versus everyone. The rich men are doing a good job of making people think it's something different
-
Nah, I think itβs impt to just know that we can all just live however we choose, no one should tell us anyone can just be one way

I like this. But while the study is sex specific, fixing this would benefit boys and girls.
Humans weren't meant to sit in a chair and be talked at.

And here you are making no meaningful contribution to this discussion.
